Free self-check · AI maturity

Know where you stand in ten minutes.

Twelve questions from the eight core dimensions of the assessment, the same anchored scale, immediate results. No sign-up.

Your answers are not transmitted anywhere. They stay in this browser tab and are gone the moment you close it.

The scale

The same scale as in the full assessment. It is anchored: every step is described, so that “medium” does not mean something different to every respondent.

0Not present
There is nothing recognisable; the topic has not been addressed.
1Ad hoc
Individuals do something, without guidance, not repeatable.
2Defined
A documented rule or process exists; application is inconsistent.
3Practised
The rule is applied regularly, responsibility is clear, evidence exists.
4Managed
Effectiveness is measured and the approach improved from it.

The twelve questions

Counts as a missing value, never as zero. Dimensions without an answer are left out of the analysis.

0 of 12 answered
  1. D1 · Strategy & governance1. There is a management-backed position on what AI is to be used for in the company - and what it deliberately is not for.
  2. D2 · Roles, responsibility & competence2. Every AI use has a named subject-matter owner, not just “IT”.
  3. D2 · Roles, responsibility & competence3. Employees who use AI have been trained appropriately for their role: fundamentals, risks, rules.
  4. D3 · Use cases & value4. AI use cases are identified systematically and assessed for value and feasibility, rather than started on impulse.
  5. D4 · Data & data quality5. For AI-relevant data it is known where it sits, who owns it and how reliable it is.
  6. D4 · Data & data quality6. It is defined which data classes may go into which AI tools - and the rule is actually followed.
  7. D5 · Technology, architecture & operations7. AI runs in a defined, supported environment, not as a shadow setup maintained by individual teams.
  8. D6 · Risk, law & compliance8. AI uses are assessed for risk before they start - legal, professional, reputational - with a documented result.
  9. D6 · Risk, law & compliance9. For higher-risk uses, human oversight is built in as an enforced process step, not as an appeal to good behaviour.
  10. D7 · Security in AI use10. Access to AI tools and their data is restricted by role, with MFA wherever they are reachable from outside.
  11. D7 · Security in AI use11. The risk of uncontrolled data outflow through AI tools (shadow AI) is actively managed: approved-tool list, monitoring, reporting route.
  12. D8 · People, culture & change12. AI use is communicated openly - employees know what applies and what is coming.

What this is not

An automated self-assessment by a single person: no comparison across roles, no follow-up questions, no expert review. Those three things are precisely what the full assessment adds. The result is provided as is; no contractual relationship arises from it.
