From research and practice.
Ascios comes out of university teaching, out of research and out of some twenty years of projects in software engineering, security and AI enablement. That work is where our method comes from - and with it the requirement that every number in the report can be recalculated.
The founders

Security and research
Holds a doctorate and teaches at university level. Some twenty years of practice in software engineering and security, from regulated enterprise projects to research on the security of large language models. At Ascios he is responsible for methodology and the security catalogues.

AI enablement and course design
Teaches at university level and in professional education. Some twenty years of experience in teaching teams new technologies, from mid-sized firms to public administration, most recently with a focus on AI literacy and maturity models. At Ascios he is responsible for course design and the course material.
Regular publications and reviewing for peer-reviewed journals and conferences. A textbook on research methods is due in 2027.
What you can hold us to
University teaching and publications are not decoration, they are the workshop: the catalogues, the scales and the checking routines come out of courses, research and project work - that is what Learn and Assess are built from.
Limits are stated in the offer
What our results are is stated wherever we describe them: an indicative assessment, not a certificate, not a seal, not an audit opinion. What a finding does not support is stated in the report alongside it.
Evidenced, not asserted
Scoring, measures and the triggers for follow-up questions are disclosed. Every report contains its methodology appendix; sources are available on request.
Sovereignty as a principle
Processing happens on European infrastructure, free text is analysed by locally run models, real names stay with you. Once the report is released, the raw answers are deleted.
